Eric R. Pevney, PhD was raised in Southern California and completed his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Arizona and his Master’s Degree in Psychology at the University of Tulsa. He completed his Doctoral Degree at the California School of Professional Psychology in 2005.
Dr. Pevney’s background includes postdoctoral training at Naval Medical Center San Diego. His experience also includes extensive work in the adolescent residential treatment setting, private practice, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
A private practitioner in Carlsbad Village and Mission Valley, Dr. Eric Pevney’s practice specializes in the treatment of depression and bipolar disorders, anxiety disorders, adolescent issues, stress management, and PTSD. He focuses on the individual strengths and traits of each patient. His practice includes a number of Evidence-Based Treatments with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Dr. Pevney has been published in the American Journal of Psychiatry for recent advancements in PTSD research.
He strongly believes in treating each patient with compassionate care and is committed to helping his patients reach their full potential to live a balanced and healthy life. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and San Diego Psychological Association. Dr. Pevney currently is contracted with Aetna, Blue Shield, and Magellan.
