Naomi Lake is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been a licensed professional for over 25 years. She has a Bachelor of Science in psychology from George Mason University and a Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Naomi specializes in multi-cultural issues, mental illness and substance abuse issues, and health and spiritual issues to name a few.

 

Before entering the mental health field, Naomi worked as a graphic artist and illustrator, and continues to do art work with wildlife, the southwest and Native American themes. Her career as a therapist includes 30 years of working with diverse groups of people: She ran a homeless drop-in center; was the director of a psychiatric day treatment center; and worked with veterans and the LGBT community. She’s worked with the elderly, couples, families, children and adolescents; people suffering from PTSD and domestic violence; people with chronic illnesses and substance abuse issues. She has also worked with people on federal probation, the pan-Asian community, and supervised interns working on their licenses. And most recently, as a behavioral health director and therapist at a Native American urban community clinic. Naomi is a Rogerian therapist and believes in client-centered therapy and positive psychology.
