Glenn Goodlove discovered California after a tour in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He prefers San Diego to Everett, Washington where he was born. He received his BA in Sociology, Psychology and Religion from the University of Redlands, his Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California in 1962, a certificate in Gerontology from USC, and a MS in Computer Resources Management from Webster University in 1987. He has a teaching and counseling credential from the State of California. He has been a LCSW since 1962. He and his wife Sharon Goodlove provide workshops, classes, counseling and psychotherapy to individuals and groups at the Goodlove Counseling Center www.goodlove-online.com.

 

He has worked in the social service/mental health field as an adoption worker, probation officer, college teacher and counselor and retired from Long Beach Community College in 1992. He has worked for H.E.L.P., providing psychotherapy to seniors and the chronically mentally ill since 1996.

 

His primary approaches include client centered, supportive, insight and cognitive-behavioral therapy. He is experienced in addressing issues related to stress, anxiety, depression, addictive behaviors, dysfunctional family relationships, loss and grief, sexual relationships, chronic illness, HIV/AIDS and aging.
