Dr. Teri Davis, Ed.D., LCSW specializes in working with women and children struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, addiction, self-care, shame, boundary and self-esteem issues. With a doctorate and master’s degrees in education, and experience as an elementary school teacher and early childhood professor, she understands the challenges navigating childhood and the world of school. She is highly relatable and intuitive. When seeking a place of healing and stability, Dr. Teri offers a sensitive, caring, spiritual, client-centered approach focusing on your strengths while working together to uncover insights, solutions and identify new perspectives for building resilience.
She has specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) improving brain health through practical neuroscience, play therapy, and holds certifications in Holistic Health and Addictions Treatment Counseling (CATC V). She meets the definition of what most people seek in a Christian counselor. Providing individualized treatment based on clients’ needs, she also utilizes music, meditation, prayer, Dialectical Behavior Therapy/mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy, Family Systems Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. The building of a strong therapist-client alliance and creating a safe, nonjudgmental place where healing can begin is most important.
She has a Master of Social Work (MSW) specializing in Mental Health from The University of Texas at Arlington, a Doctorate of Education in Administration and Leadership from Kansas State University and a Master of Education from Texas Tech University. Her professional affiliations include the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the National Association of Play Therapy (APT) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). In her spare time you might find her in the kitchen creating something healthy, fun and organic.
