I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) practicing in the San Diego and Riverside County areas. I graduated from UC San Diego with a B.A. in Sociology, and from Alliant International University with an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy.
I have held diverse roles in the therapy field since 2010, such as providing counseling in clinics, schools, homes and throughout the community. I specialize in counseling individuals and families through a trauma informed lens. I have experience working with children and youth who are struggling to find their way in the world, which may often present as anxiety, depression, self-injury and/or oppositional behavior. I have also focused on providing crisis intervention services to children and adults experiencing chronic symptoms of trauma, psychosis, suicidal ideation, anxiety and substance use. Most recently I have focused on supporting military members and their families in dealing with everything from military life transitions to trauma.
I approach therapy with an open mind and heart. My compassionate and friendly nature help to create a comfortable and safe environment to address symptoms without shame or judgment. I will support you in identifying what you would like to shift in your life and can empower you through the process of creating long term positive change. I believe that happiness comes from fully accepting oneself and creating balance in all areas of life. I utilize approaches such as talk therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing, to help you transition from surviving to thriving.
